COVID-19 Blues

This frazzling time shows me how fragile our habits can be; our complicated system relies on these habits to work. But, we forget that many people in the world don’t have the luxury of habits and are focused on survival—like we are right now.
My last traditional Undergraduate class time (and I didn’t even know it) was about refugees and asylum seekers. Being displaced is their normal in order to survive. I’m thankful that during these rough waters, I have access to food, care, shelter...
I say this as a reminder to myself mostly. And that I believe in my vital responsibility to continue finding solutions for a better world. My bright classmates will be creating vaccines for the next pandemic (and current ones still going on that we decide to forget).
My job is to believe in my future bright students who will be utilizing our complicated system to improve lives that aren’t benefiting. We all have a part in this world.
